Hoshizaki America, Inc. is one of the world's leading manufacturers of commercial ice machines and reach-in refrigeration systems.HOSHIZAKI was established in 1947 by Shigetoshi Sakamoto in Nagoya, Japan. HOSHIZAKI developed the first vending machine in Japan. It was a juice vending machine, called the Oasis.

HOSHIZAKI began production of the IM series ice makers in 1965. The ground work for a successful company had been laid. HOSHIZAKI went on to develop the F series flake ice machine in 1966. Sakamoto Shoji Co., Ltd. was established in 1968 as the sole distributor of HOSHIZAKI products. In 1982, HOSHIZAKI established a distribution center in California.

In 1987, the first U.S. manufacturing facility was built in Peachtree City,Georgia for the production of ice makers and storage bins. In 1992 this rapidly expanding company began distribution in Europe, with the European division headquartered in Amsterdam. The first European manufacturing facility was built in 1994 in Telford, UK to support the ever increasing sales volume.
